The stator is the fixed field winding that works with the armature to create the rotating magnetic field – without a healthy stator, the motor cannot deliver smooth, reliable power to your backing pad.
Heat, overload, fine dust and years of start-stop cycles can eventually damage the original stator, leading to poor torque, excessive sparking, tripping of power protection or a motor that simply refuses to run. The POL05-SK08 kit supplies a factory-spec stator assembly (items 29 and 30 on the parts diagram), matched to the POL05 armature and housing so you can restore the motor to proper working condition.
